Today, in the opening match of the new season, in an interesting game in the Super Cup, we lost to RFS with 1:3! The only goal for our team was scored by Marko Regža! On Thursday, the first game of the championship in Mežaparks Sports Village against SK “Super Nova”.
In 2024, we won the Super Cup against RFS in a penalty shootout, but our main opponents won the championship and cup trophies.
In the first half of the game, we controlled the ball more, took many corner kicks, Gauthier Mankenda hit the crossbar, but we were unable to score. In the 36th minute, RFS created a good attack, and at the end of it, Jānis Ikaunieks scored the ball into the far corner (0:1).
At the beginning of the second half, both teams played aggressively. Anthony Contreras had a very good chance, but he missed. In the 71st and 76th minutes RFS scored goals, and we found ourselves in an unenviable situation (0:3). Marko Regža scored one goal, but it was not possible to save this game. Loss with 1:3.
