Tonight in the round of 16 of the Latvian Cup, we convincingly defeated “Ventspils” with a scoreline of 3:0. The goals were scored by Baba Musah, Anthony Contreras and Reginaldo Ramires.
It rained heavily throughout Latvia today and the teams of this game also had to deal with it during the game. “Ventspils” team plays in the second strongest league in Latvia this season and currently tooks the ninth place.
At the beginning of the game, we quickly created several very good goalscoring opportunities, but we scored the first goal in the fifth minute after the set piece. After a corner kick, Baba Musah scored a great header – 1:0. In the first half, we definitely could have scored two or three more goals, but we didn’t take our opportunities. After the first half we were in the lead with 1:0.
In the second half, two strikers – Reginaldo Ramires and Anthony Contreras – entered the field. Both players scored one goal each in the second half of the match. In the 51st minute, Contreras masterfully used his one on one situation against the goalkeeper, and Ramires scored from the 11-meter mark in the 63rd minute. In the final result, we won with the result 3:0.
The next match in the Latvian Championship is on July 19 at the Skonto Stadium against “Jelgava”.
