Tonight in the semi-finals of the Latvian Cup we experienced a very big disappointment and in the Riga derby we lost to RFS with the result 1:2. Marko Regža scored the only goal for our team.
We played against RFS in the final of last year’s Latvian Cup and won in the penalties, winning the cup trophy for the second time in the club’s history.
Opponents gave several leaders a chance to rest this evening. In the first 20 minutes, the opponents made some dangerous shots, and in one of the episodes the team was saved by Rihards Matrevics. Step by step we gathered the initiative and in the 33rd minute Marko Regža scored after a pass from Gauthier Mankenda. After the first half we were in the lead (1:0).
We lacked energy and emotion in the second half. RFS scored two goals during the half and gave us a very painful 1:2 loss.
On September 29, we will play against Liepāja in the Latvian championship at the Skonto Stadium.
