On Sunday, in the game of the 36th round of the Latvian Highest league, we won the away Riga derby against RFS with the scoreline of 2:1! We finished the championship in second place.
This season, we won RFS in the Supercup, lost in the semi-finals of the Latvian Cup, but two draws and one RFS victory were recorded in the championship.
At the beginning of the game, after our mistake, the opponents did not take advantage of a great opportunity. After that, we already controlled the game, and Raivis Jurkovskis scored a beautiful goal in the 12th minute – 1:0. In the second part of the half, after our foul close to the penalty area, Luka Silagadze scored a free-kick. After the first half it was 1:1 on the scoreboard.
In the second half, both teams showed a great desire to score and we did so at the very end of the game. Gauthier Mankenda was fouled in the penalty area after a great pass from El Bashir Ngom and Reginaldo Ramires scored his 25th goal of the season from the penalty spot. The final result was a 2:1 victory.
At the end of the championship, our team got 87 points and second place.
