On Thursday, in the 27th round of the Latvian Highest league, we played a 0:0 draw against RFS in the Riga derby, maintaining a six-point lead in the tournament table.
This season, we had played very well against FK RFS, earning two wins in two games – 1:0, 3:1.
In the third game against RFS, there were a lot of tactical twists. In the first half, both teams paid a lot of attention to the game in their own half of the field. After one of the set pieces, Baba Musah was close to scoring a goal, but after his header, the ball did not fly into the goal. There were few good scoring opportunities overall and quite logically the first 45 minutes ended with a score of 0:0.
In the second half, RFS played actively, but we had a couple of good opportunities in counterattacks. There was good discipline in defense and goalkeeper Krišjānis Zviedris played very confident. In the final part of the game we played more defensively, and the game ended in a draw 0:0.
On Monday we will play away in Daugavpils.
