Today, in the 3rd round of the Latvian Highest league, we played most of the match away from home with 10 men and fought to a 1:1 draw against “Jelgava”. The only goal for our team was scored by Reginaldo Ramires.
At the start of the season, we had earned four of the maximum six points. 2:0 against “Super Nova” and 2:2 against “Auda”. “Jelgava” had earned one point in the first two games.
We completely dominated the game at the beginning, we also created a couple of good scoring opportunities, but we did not score. In the 11th minute, after a VAR check, the referee sent off Gauthier Mankenda from the field. This changed the game. It became more close, there were not many good chances, and the first half of the game ended with 0:0.
In the second half, we put pressure on the opponent’s goal, and in the 63rd minute, after Eduards Dašķevičs’ cross, Reginaldo Ramires scored a beautiful header – 1:0. A couple of minutes later, “Jelgava” created a good counterattack – 1:1. In the final part of the game, we tried our all to win, but it didn’t work out. 1:1 draw.
