On Sunday, in the 33rd round of the Latvian Highest league, we defeated FK “Metta” 1:0 at Sloka Stadium, taking another step closer to the championship title. The only goal was scored by Reginaldo Ramires.
Until this game against FK “Metta” we had earned seven of the maximum nine points – a 1:1 draw in the first game, but victories in the following games with 3:0 and 3:2.
There were few dangerous moments in the first half of the game at Sloka Stadium. In the 16th minute, the opponent’s goalkeeper made a foul in the penalty area against Orlando Galo, and Reginaldo Ramires converted the penalty kick (1:0). Overall, the first half of the game was quite close and we had a minimal lead on the scoreboard (1:0).
In the second half, we had two good chances, when Iago Siqueira and Ramires did not use their opportunities. The opponents came dangerously close to our goal a couple of times in the final part of the game, but together we secured another important victory with a score of 1:0.
On Friday at 18:00 at Skonto Stadium we will meet with FK “Tukums 2000”. In this game, in case of victory or a draw, we will secure the championship title.
