In the 1/8 finals of the Latvian Cup at the Skonto Stadium, we convincingly defeated the team of FK “Tukums 2000” with 4:0. We will meet “Riga Mariners” in the 1/4 finals on August 27.
The Latvian Highest league teams start the cup from the 1/8 final barrier and the draw decided that FK “Tukums 2000” faced us.
After unpleasantly losing two points in the previous game in the championship against “Daugavpils”, the team showed a strong performance and deservedly won.
We scored the first goal in the 27th minute, when Meissa Diop proved his speed qualities, overtook the opponent and hit the ball into the goal (1:0). There were no more goals in the first half.
In the second half of the game we completely controlled the game, created one moment after another and scored three goals. Anthony Contreras, Joao Grimaldo and Abdulrahman Taivo each scored – 4:0.
On August 27, we will play against “Riga Mariners” in the 1/4 finals of the Latvian Cup at Skonto Stadium.
