In the 22nd round of the Latvian Highest League, we lost two points at home against another Eurocup team ”Daugavpils” – 1:1, thus failing to set a new Highest league record for consecutive wins.
• The hosts received a cold shower in the middle of the first half – Faisal Konate, who is on loan from RFS, headed past Krišjānis Zviedris and put the guests in the lead.
• In the 63rd minute of the match, ”Daugavpils” was left with 10 men.
• In the second half, ”Riga” put a lot of pressure on the away goal, but only managed to equalize in the 84th minute, when a precise shot was scored by Ahmed Ankrah.
• In the additional time, ”Riga” almost managed to score another goal after the set piece – the home players started to celebrate, but the linesman raised his flag, pointing the offside.
